Ocean Prime Philadelphia Welcomes a New Executive Chef
Philly’s Ocean Prime restaurant recently welcomed a new executive Chef, Steve Ackner. I had the pleasure of meeting him while enjoying a private happy hour last week. Steve previously worked at other Ocean Prime locations, Troy Michigan and New York City. Now he has the opportunity to enjoy working in our lovely city of Philadelphia.
During this happy hour a few selected items were served. I indulged in few of their popular cocktails. I started with the Cucumber Gimlet. It’s made with Bombay Sapphire gin, fresh lime juice, cucumber and simple syrup. It’s very refreshing! The flavor of this cocktail made me think of a margarita, just a tad. I also enjoyed two Whiskey Clover cocktails. One wasn’t enough! I was shocked by how smooth it tasted and this had just enough sweetness for my liking. This cocktail contains Hennessey VS Cognac and Gentleman Jack Whiskey. Light bites were also provided. A variety of sushi rolls were served along with tuna tartare and lamb lollipops.
Want to hear one new exciting thing that’s happening here? The second floor mezzanine area which overlooks the first floor will now be open for Saturday happy hour from 4:30 - 6:30pm! So come by soon and experience happy hour here in this fabulous space. I’ll be looking forward to my next visit. I can’t wait to see more of what Chef Ackner has in store!
