Kane’s Brewing Special at Redz Restaraunt

Come and check out Redz Restaurant located in Mount Laurel, NJ (515 Fellowship Road, Mt. Laurel NJ 08054) and try Kane Brewing Company beer infused menu items. The Kane collaboration will run until this Saturday January 27th. Kane Brewing beer will also be on tap as part of the collaboration. I had the opportunity to preview this menu and I was quite impressed. Here’s a look at what you can experience at Redz Restaurant this week.

There are three items featured on the Kane Brewing menu. I began with the cheddar and beer soup paired with Kane Sneakbox. This beer is a pale ale with an ABV of 5.2% and made with 100% Citra hops. The soup is made with bacon, onions, carrots and sharp cheddar. The bacon was a nice addition to the soup which gave it some texture. I savored every spoonful, this was very satisfying. The next item was a beef chili infused with Overhead Imperial IPA. This beer has an ABV of 8.2% and has a dry crisp finish b/c it has a lot of hops. The chili is made with beef, kidney beans, local onions, peppers and tomatoes. This had a mild kick to it, not too spicy. I enjoyed the heartiness of this chili. This bowl can fill you up and it'll make your belly happy. The next item on the Kane menu is short rib on a quinoa cake and topped with Swiss chard. The short ribs are braised with a hoppy IPA. The beer used is the Head High IPA with an ABV of 6.5%, heavy hop flavor with citrus aroma, tropical fruits and pine. The short rib was tender, moist and the flavor was awesome. I thought this was a savory, but light course with the pairing of the quinoa cake. Lastly, instead of enjoying the beers infused in a dish, you can try each of them in a beer flight for $10.00.

Since this was my first time dining at Redz, I had to try a few more things before I left. I decided to go with the French Onion Soup. This soup is topped with a mountain of melted provolone cheese, Gruyere and Swiss cheese. This bowl was incredible. I like my French Onion soup with a ton of cheese and this bowl didn't disappoint me. I also tried the calamari. This is a popular dish here. It's marinated in herb and buttermilk served with a marinara sauce. I thought this was nice item and I didn't think I needed to use much of the marinara. The calamari was so good that  I wanted to enjoy it's flavor without a sauce. Now, what good is a lunch or dinner without dessert? A tray with a number of desserts were presented. There was cheesecake that comes from Junior's in New York, and a house made Banana Foster served warm with a single scoop of gelato. There was also an Apple Walnut Caramel cake, a traditional Red Velvet Cake and a strawberry flavored sponge cake with vanilla icing. Redz also has their own gelato and the flavors are vanilla, chocolate, Chocolate Hazelnut, Salted Caramel, Cookies & Cream, Green Tea and Mango.

Don't hesitate to venture out a few minutes out of Philly for an excellent dining experience. Here, you’ll enjoy the food and atmosphere. The staff is amazing and the manager Debbie will make you feel at home. Thank you to my server Frank. He is a great example of how a server should be. His personality is wonderful, he's a fantastic speaker and he is extremely knowledgeable. Lastly, a huge thank you to Chef Roelof de Groot. He took time to do a Q&A with me. He’s laid back, fun and has an interesting background. Take my advice and don't miss the Kane Brewing beer infused menu. And make sure to try the short rib!
